Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY)

 Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY is a flagship health insurance scheme launched by the Government of India to provide free healthcare services to the bottom 40% of India's population, especially the poor and vulnerable families.

Key Features:

  1. ₹5 lakh coverage per family per year.
  2. Covers hospitalization expenses (pre- and post-hospitalization).
  3. Cashless treatment at empanelled public and private hospitals.
  4. No age, family size, or gender restrictions.




📌 Eligibility Criteria:

Rural: Based on SECC 2011 data (e.g., landless households, families with no adult earning member, etc.).

Urban: Based on occupational categories (e.g., street vendors, domestic workers, construction workers, etc.).

Automatic Inclusion: If already covered under Ration Card, NFSA, or Ayushman Mitra list.

You can check eligibility using your mobile number or ration card number.

📝 Step-by-Step Process to Get Ayushman Card

🧾 Step 1: Check Your Eligibility

Option A: Online

1. Visit 👉 https://beneficiary.nha.gov.in

2. Click on "Am I Eligible".

3. Enter your mobile number and verify with OTP.

4. Select your state and search using:

  • Ration Card Number
  • Mobile Number
  • Name

Option B: Offline

Visit your nearest:

  • Common Service Center (CSC)
  • Hospital with Ayushman Kendra
  • Ayushman Mitra

🖨️ Step 2: Document Submission & Verification

Provide the following:

  • Aadhaar Card (mandatory)
  • Ration Card or SECC Name proof
  • Mobile number
  • Address proof (if required)

The officials will verify your name in the PM-JAY database.

📥 Step 3: Generate Ayushman Card

Once verified:

1. Your Ayushman Card will be generated digitally.

2. You will get a PMJAY ID number.

3. It will be linked with your Aadhaar and mobile.

You can download the card from:

  • PMJAY website
  • CSC center
  • Aarogya Setu app

ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Digital Health ID) portal

📄 Step 4: Download or Print Ayushman Card

Option A: Online

1. Go to https://bis.pmjay.gov.in

2. Login using your mobile number/Aadhaar

3. Go to “Download Ayushman Card”

4. Enter OTP and download

Option B: CSC

They will print it for you for a small fee (₹30-₹50).

🏥 Step 5: Use the Ayushman Card

At the Hospital:

1. Visit an empaneled hospital (list available on PM-JAY website).

2. Carry your Ayushman card + Aadhaar.

3. Go to the Ayushman Mitra Kendra in the hospital.

4. They will check eligibility and initiate treatment cashless.


🔁 Renewal or Updates

No need to renew annually.

If details change (e.g., name, Aadhaar, address), visit CSC or hospital Ayushman Kendra for updates.
