NEXT AIR CHIEF MARSHAL OF IAF (INDIAN AIR FORCE)
|- The government on September 21,2024 announced that it has appointed Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh — the current Vice Chief of the Air Staff — as the next Chief of the Air Staff.
|- He is a fighter pilot. During his flying career, he was also tasked with test-flying the indigenous Tejas fighter jet.
|- He is scheduled to take over on September 30, when the present incumbent Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari superannuates.
|- Air Marshal Singh is fourth officer from the Sikh community to lead the IAF.

|- Amar Preet Singh is an alumnus of the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA), Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), and the National Defence College (NDC).
|- Air Marshal Singh is also a Qualified Flying Instructor and an Experimental Test Pilot. His vast flying experience exceeds 5,000 hours on both fixed-wing and rotary aircraft, reflecting his versatility as a pilot.
